Erasmus+ Opportunities and Promotion of International Cooperation at the Podgorica Picnic

At the traditional Podgorica Picnic, which this year marked the spectacular opening of the Festival of Arts, Science and Culture – FUNK, held in the pleasant setting of the University of Montenegro campus, the International Relations and Mobility Office presented a wide range of opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme to students of the University.

During this vibrant and well-attended event, which attracted thousands of visitors, students had the opportunity to visit the information booth and learn more about international mobility options, eligibility criteria, partner universities, and to hear practical tips from peers who have already taken part in Erasmus+ exchanges.

A special segment was dedicated to the presentation of the ESN-AIR project – "Engaging Students for eNhancing Internationalization practices in the Adriatic-Ionian Region", in which the University of Montenegro is participating as a partner institution. The aim of the project is to actively involve students in the internationalisation process by strengthening support systems for international students, improving buddy programmes, and exchanging good practices among universities in the Adriatic-Ionian region.

The activity was organised in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Podgorica, and was further enriched by the presence of volunteers – buddies and international students currently studying at the University of Montenegro. Their engagement allowed visitors to hear first-hand experiences and gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of studying abroad.

Through initiatives like this, the University of Montenegro continues to foster an open, dynamic, and internationally connected academic environment, encouraging students to take advantage of the opportunities available and become active participants in the European Higher Education Area.
