Leading Global Geoscience Researcher to Be Visiting Professor at UCG: Appointment to Be Discussed at Senate Meeting

At today’s Senate meeting of the University of Montenegro, chaired by Rector Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, a unanimous decision was made to engage the distinguished expert and scientist, Prof. Slobodan Marković from the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad.

The decision to hire a visiting researcher and lecturer was proposed by the Committee for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Montenegro, aiming to enhance intensive scientific cooperation, create renowned scientific publications, develop project applications, participate in projects, provide expert assistance in implementation, and improve the quality of master’s and doctoral studies.

Prof. Dr. Marković is one of the leading global researchers in the field of geosciences. He has been included in Stanford’s list of the top 2% of the most successful researchers globally for his accomplishments in 2020 and 2021. He is active in many international scientific associations, serves as a reviewer and guest editor for numerous leading international journals, and has been a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2015.

Explaining the initiative of the Committee for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Montenegro to engage a visiting lecturer, Rector Božović stated that with this engagement, Prof. Marković will join a group of six visiting professors already involved in the study program. He emphasized that all of them bring extensive experience and expertise, directly contributing to the enhancement of teaching and research quality and significantly adding to the internationalization of the university experience.
