International Conference of Young Scientists in Warsaw in July

International Conference of Young Scientists in Warsaw in July

The Doctoral School of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) will organize the International Conference "Challenges of the Modern Economy - Research Findings of Young Scientists" from July 13 to 15. This conference is intended for masters and doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral researchers who have recently earned their Ph.D. In addition to young scientists, the conference will also gather experienced, internationally recognized academics.

The conference will take place at the Warsaw School of Economics as part of the project "Strengthening the Position of the SGH Doctoral School in the International Doctoral Studies Area," funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the STER program - Internationalization of Doctoral Schools.

Participation in the conference is free, but participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

The goal of the conference is to examine how contemporary events, processes, and developments affect the economy, business sector, society, and politics, and to encourage debates on how the resulting context, best described by terms of uncertainty, unpredictability, complexity, and turbulence, impacts strategies, policies, and consumer behavior.

The conference will be organized around six thematic areas:

- Think twice! Digital transformation and its implications for business, economy, society, politics, and policies.

- Understand the connections! Demography, migration, and mobility in relation to society, economy, politics, and governance.

- Stay calm, predict risks! Managing and governing uncertainty and unpredictability in politics, economy, and the business sector.

- Delivering value! Value chains and supply chains: trends and evolution amidst deglobalization, fragmentation, and technological changes.

- Include us! The third sector and other stakeholders, complex socio-economic and political challenges, and the way forward.

- In short, sustainability! Sustainability and its multiple dimensions: society, economy, politics, entrepreneurship, and corporate strategies.

Interested researchers should submit abstracts by April 15. After the conferences Academic Committee reviews the abstracts, authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full papers (up to 7000 words), extended abstracts (around 2500 words), or posters. Decisions on abstract acceptance will be made by April 25, while accepted papers, extended abstracts, and posters must be submitted by June 30.

Authors of the best papers, presentations, or posters will be invited to submit their work to one of the journals identified by the conference organizers. Furthermore, authors of particularly interesting papers will be invited to contribute their work to a book publication indexed in Scopus.
