After successfully completing this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand main ideas of detailed and more complex discussions and discourses on a wide range of subjects, and also the substance of an unstructured conversation in the authentic environment. 2. Understand longer texts with more complex meanings, different in styles and thematics. 3. Apply the acquired knowledge about the basics of Italian phraseology in language production, oral and written. 4. Use the language flexibly and effectively in well-structured texts on complex subjects. 5. Translate from Italian to the mother tongue and viceversa stylistically and topically more demanding texts from various fields, applying also the knowledge acquired during other courses in the curriculum. 6. Effectively apply the acquired knowledge in verbal interaction for social and professional purposes; use the language in more complex situations; summarize information from spoken and written sources without difficulties.
