Biography - Bulatović Nikola

Nikola Bulatovic was born on 20th December 1989 in Podgorica, Montenegro. He attended "Sutjeska" elementary school in Podgorica (completed in 2004), where he achieved outstanding results in regional and national mathematics competitions. After primary school, he attended "Slobodan Škerović" high school in Podgorica. He was awarded a diploma "Luca A" for the extraordinary results achieved, both in primary and in secondary school.

His academic education began in 2008 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica. Undergraduate studies at the study programme of Electronics, Telecommunications and Computers ended in 2011 with an average grade of 9.64. After undergraduate studies he continued research in the field of electronics. He completed Specialist studies with an average grade of 10.00 and defended specialist thesis: "Persistence of vision based displays". In the third year of undergraduate studies, due to the remarkable performance, he won the faculty's recognition for the best students.

During his studies he participated in development of numerous web, Android, iOS and hardware applications and solutions. With a project called "Smart Home" he won the competition for young inventors in Montenegro in April 2012. As a member of the Electrical Engineering Faculty's programming team he participated in development of the winning software project "Be responsible" at the "Open ideas for Montenegro" competition, in June 2013.

In January 2013 he was hired by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering under the project "Vocational training of persons with higher education" by the Government of Montenegro. The same year he enrolled in Master studies at the study programme of Electronics, under the supervision of Prof. Zoran Mijanovic. During this project, he spent three months in Bratislava, at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Institute of Electrical Engineering, where he conducted a part of the research for his Master's thesis. He completed Master studies in July 2014, with an average grade of 10.00 and defended his Master's thesis: "Development of scanning methods in research of novel materials and nanostructures."

Since September 2014 he has been working as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica, where he is engaged in the subjects: Programming 1, Programming 2, Digital Image Processing, Principles of Programming, Fundamentals of Computing, Web design, Text processors, Electrical measurements. Also, as a researcher at the doctoral studies, he was engaged within the first Center of Excellence in Montenegro BIO-ICT, where he was doing a research for his doctoral thesis as well as the development of new IoT (Internet of Things) platforms.

As the leader and mentor of the Montenegrin robotics team, he participated in the FIRST Global Challenge, Robotics Olympics in 2018, 2019 and 2020, in Mexico City and Dubai. The Montenegrin team achieved remarkable results in the hardware and software development of robotic systems.
