Biography - Tepavčević Miodarka

Miodarka  Tepavčević was born on 25 September 1972 in Nikšić, where she completed primary school (1979–1987) and high school (1987–1991). She graduated at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić from the Department for Serbo-Croatian Language and South-Slavic Literature in 1996. She received awards as the best student (in primary, secondary and tertiary education). She successfully defended her Master’s thesis “Linguistic Means of Depersonalisation and Generalisation in the Works of Petar II Petrović Njegoš” in 2001 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić. At the same faculty, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation “The Language of Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša” in 2007, and gained the title of Doctor of Linguistic Sciences.   

She was first employed at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić as an assistant for language subjects, and was then given the title of docent professor, and later full professor. She teaches within several study programmes in the Faculties of Philology, Philosophy, and Sport and Physical Education. She is the author of the monograph “The Language of Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša”, which was published by the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts. She has published more than sixty academic papers in national and international journals and anthologies, and has participated in roughly thirty international congresses and many other projects (“Studying Written Linguistic Expression in Montenegro”; “Linguistic Investigations”; “Studying Montenegrin Written Literary Language Expression of the Second Half of the Nineteenth Century”; “Ivo Andrić in the European Context”; “The Lyrical, Comic and Satirical World of Branko Ćopić”; “Literature and Language in the Function of Promoting the Universal Values and Components of Identity of Montenegrin Society”; and “Stylistics of the Slavic Lands at the Fin de Siècle (20th/21st Century)”. At the University of Montenegro she was engaged within projects for: Implementation of the Quality Assurance System at the University of Montenegro (2010); Reaccreditation of the University of Montenegro (2012–2017); Self-Evaluation Report for the University of Montenegro (Programme of Institutional Evaluation, European University Association) (2014); Strategy for Lifelong Learning at the University of Montenegro for the period 2012–2014; EURAXESS TOP II, Montenegro, University of Montenegro and Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnologiá (FECYT), Spain; Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union, Podgorica, 2013. She was a member of the Centre for Young Scientists within the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts in the period 2010–2012. She was a member of the editorial board of the University of Montenegro from 2017 to 2019. She is also a member of the Association of Applied Linguistics of Montenegro.

The areas of her interest are: syntax, morphology, semantics and linguostylistics.
