Biography - Vuksanović Vineta+

Vineta Vuksanovic was born in 1961 in Prilep, Macedonia. Elementary school and high school she finished in her hometown as the best student. Medical doctor degree she obtained at the Medical Faculty in Skopje in 1986, and she passed specialist exam in 1992 at the Medical Faculty in Belgrade. Academic title Master of Science (2000) and PhD degree (2005) she obtained at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Novi Sad and became the first medical doctor specialist of microbiology with PhD degree in Montenegro. In his home institution, the Institute for Public Health, she has been working since 1987, and in the period 2005 – 2016 she was the President of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro. She speaks English. She is married and mother of three children.

She employed Employment at the Institute for health care, the current Institute of Public Health,  in 1987. From 1991 to 1994, in parallel with the work in the Institute, she has been working as a professor at the High Medical School. With the opening of the Medical Faculty, she has been engaged since the beginning 1999, when she started to work as consultant, and in 2001, she started as an assistant. She was appointed as Assistant professor at the University of Montenegro in 2006, since that period she has been the chief of Microbiology at the Medical Faculty and  the Faculty for Dentistry, and later at the Faculty of Pharmacy, which was established in 2007. Also, in 2005, the Higher Medical School was established in Berane and she has been engaged from the beginning as a lecturer. She was appointed as Associate professor in the University of Montenegro in 2012. In this moment, in the current 2017, she is in the election phase for a full professor.

Thanks to scientific and professional qualities she member of numerous professional associations: medical society of Montenegro, the Association and Section of microbiologists of Montenegro, Chairman of Balkan Society of Microbiologists, honorary member of the Romanian Society of Microbiologists, member the European Society of Microbiologists, the European Committee for Antimicrobial Susceptibility. This resulted in election as president of the Section of Microbiologists of Montenegro when she issued two publications: the book "Day of antibiotic awareness" in 2010 when this day started to be marked in Montenegro and the book "Seven most important bacteria in Europe" in 2014, where, with colleagues microbiologists, she presented and discussed seven potentially the most resistant bacteria highlighted by the WHO. Also, in the period from 2007 to 2009 she was elected as a president of the Balkan Society of microbiologists in this mandates she organized the Fifth Balkan Congress of Microbiologists in 2007 in Budva.

Currently, she is involved in the bilateral project with colleagues from Macedonia, as a project manager for Montenegro: “Antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of certain groups of medically important macromycetes from Montenegro and Macedonia”. She is author of the first Montenegrin university students’book "Clinical Microbiology", published in 2009. In May 2016, many years of experience in the implementation of diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis in Montenegro and working with patients, was rounded by publishing monograph titled "Bacterial vaginosis - diagnosis, prevalence and medical importance", written by Prof Vineta Vuksanovic author.
