CV - Milica Vuković Stamatović

Milica Vuković Stamatović, PhD, is Associate Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the Faculty of Philology, University of Montenegro, where she has worked for the past decade. She currently teaches Discourse Analysis, Phonetics and Phonology, as well as English for Specific Purposes. Her main research interests lie in the field of discourse analysis and pragmatics.

Milica Vuković Stamatović was born in 1983 in Podgorica (Montenegro), where she attended elementary school and philological secondary school. In 2006 she graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić (Montenegro), with the grade point average of 9.88 and the degree of a teacher of the English language and literature (major) and teacher of the German language (minor). She was awarded as the best student of the Faculty of Philosophy in the academic year 2004/05. Ms. Vuković Stamatović enrolled master studies in 2007 at the same Faculty (Department of Linguistics) and in 2009 she graduated with the grade point average of 10.00, having defended the master thesis entitled Discourse of TV Political Interviews. She received her PhD from the Faculty of Philosophy (Linguistics) in 2013 (the dissertation title: Discourse of Parliamentary Debates). During her studies, she was the beneficiary of several scholarships and exchange programmes in Austria, Germany and England.

Ms. Vuković Stamatović worked at the Institute of Foreign Languages (University of Montenegro) from 2006 to 2015 (where she was also Coordinator for Academic Affairs (2012-2014) and later Vice Dean of Academic Affairs (2014-2015)), after which she joined the newly established Faculty of Philology (at the same university), where she held the position of the Head of Translation Studies and works as an Assistant Professor between 2015 and 2017. In addition, she was Secretary of the Applied Linguistics Association of Montenegro from 2010 to 2014, and since 2014 she has been its vice-president. Ms. Vuković Stamatović was co-editor of the journal Logos & Littera from 2014 to 2016 and its editor-in-chief from 2016 to 2019.
