Online Course of the University of Montenegro about Academic Integrity Presented in Seminar for Quality Education for All

Representatives of the University of Montenegro attended a two-day seminar organized in Budva, within the project ‘Quality Education for All’ financed by the European Commission and European Council.

Seminar gathered representatives of relevant national institutions such as the Ministry of Education, Agency for Quality Assurance and Control in Higher Education, Ethical Committee and HE institutions.  

With international experts from the field of education on seminar “Fraud in Education – National and Global Trends” opinions and experiences were exchanged. 

Professor of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the University of Montenegro and member of the Board for Quality System Management Dubravka Drakic held the presentation on online courses of the University of Montenegro onlajn kursevima Univerziteta Crne Gore about principles of ethical attire in higher education created with the aim to raise awareness on significance of academic integrity in all levels of higher education.

Onlajn kursevi    online courses are implemented within finalized project „Reinforcement of Integrity and Fight against Corruption in Higher Education“, as part of the program "Horizontal Facility" for Western Balkans and Turkey financed by the European Union and Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.

Director of the Directorate for Higher Education of the Ministry of Education Mubera Kurpejović said that amendments of the Law on Acknowledgment of Foreign Education Documents and equalization of qualifications will decrease fraud behavior in education.

She said that aim of sharpening criteria for recognition of foreign education diplomas is protection of Montenegrin education system and labor market recognized as less quality and coming from institutions without tradition and position in international rank lists.

Head of the Section for Cooperation of the Delegation of EU in Montenegro, Herman Špic underlined that higher education systems should build reputation of their students and research work on ethical principles.  

Representative of Agency for Democratic Citizenship and participation of the Council of Europe, Vesna Atanasova looked back on the project „Quality Education for All“ that continued excellent results achieved in earlier phase of the Horizontal Program.

She emphasized that ETINED platform of the Council of Europe plays important role in the project by inspiring sustainability of this seminar, among others.
